Generative Design

Professor: Gary Rohrbacher - 2021

Using Fusion 360’s generative design, a group of students collaborated to innovate the workspace by completing a series of furniture designs to suit the working environment. Using Generative Design to iterate quickly and design with load structures, they worked to compile four objects that each embody a specific design goal to improve efficiency. This project aims to create new design ideas using parameters and constraints to work iteratively to produce material-efficient work environments. The piece of furniture I worked to develop was to serve as a work plane, pin-up space, and additional seating. This multi-function furniture created new opportunities for collaboration and working. Furthering this concept I create a joint for this plane using similar processes to optimize materials.

This project was completed with Kitachon Primi-Bradley, Emily Hall, and Ashley Jackson.
