Pence Hall Pantry: Food Repurpose for Student Hunger Relief

Through the contradicting problems of food waste management and food insecurity, this project will propose an architectural solution that works to mitigate systemic processes of food processing and handling to provide resources to students in need. Working to remove social barriers and stigmas regarding the social economic background to provide a safe, purposeful design to welcome students to enjoy complimentary meals provided through donations. This area will serve as a dining area, teaching kitchen, and donation storage for the greater surrounding Lexington County.
